Think you could go just one weekend without a festival? Nope. Saturday keeps you covered with NOLA Caribbean Festival at Roux Carre in Central City. There’s plenty of music to choose from — a free concert at Tip’s and one from local musician Dustan Louque — plus Broadway (more music!), burlesque, and comedy. 1. Hell Yes Next Finals — The annual Hell Yes Fest is just around the corner and will feature an up-and-coming comedian as part of the fold. Who will it be? Attend the Hell Yes Next finals on Friday to find out. Head to the joy theater at 7 p.m. for this all-ages show. Tickets $20.
2. Honey Island Swamp Band at Tipitina’s — Part of the Foundation Free Fridays series, this free concert starts at 10 p.m. (doors at 9) at Tipitina’s. Did we mention it’s free?
3. NOLA Caribbean Festival — Music, food, arts, and crafts with a Caribbean twist keep the beat going on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Roux Carre on Oretha Castle Haley Blvd. There’s also an official after-party at Casa Borrega. Tickets $15.
5. Broadway Open House at the Saenger — Preview upcoming shows straight from Broadway for free at this season sampler from 1 – 4 p.m. on Sunday at the Saenger. You’ll hear several smash blockbusters live and all in one place, including Disney’s The Lion King, Jersey Boys, The Illusionists, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, and Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas Musical. Free.
Color BUZZ Night Run — This charitable race pairs two favorite elements — a night run and a color run — rolled into one. Head to Zephyr Field at 8 p.m. on Saturday. Tickets from $14.
Dress 2 Burlesque – W French Quarter presents burlesque performances inspired by the 1920s and ’40s at 7:30 p.m. (although you’re encouraged to arrive early and stay late). Tickets start at $10 with packages available that include parking, cocktails and cabaret tables.
