Decadence Past, Fall Is Here

Southern Decadence came and went taking the summer with it. But it left a few great memories.

For those unaware, Southern Decadence is the largest LGBT event in New Orleans taking place every Labor Day weekend. It’s filled with events at all the gay bars as well as special programming at hotels and other venues throughout the city. As the glitter and sweat clears from what is looking like the largest Southern Decadence ever, we found a few favorite photos to share.

And of course, purple parading pirates

And speaking of pirates, our next big LGBT weekend is right around the corner: Halloween. Halloween New Orleans (HNO) is a weekend of HIV/AIDS fundraising events you will not want to miss. This year’s costume theme is “Pirate’s Revenge: The Curse of Jean Lafitte.” Tickets are available here. It’s a busy weekend in New Orleans also playing host to Voodoo Music + Arts Experience, so make your plans soon.
