GoNOLA Flickr Pick of the Week: Mardi Gras Day

Mardi Gras Day to many, is the most wonderful day of the entire year in New Orleans because of the Mardi Gras Indians, parades, costumes and more!

Soyez prêt pour célébrer! (That’s French for “Get ready to party!”) The best holiday of the year is here – Mardi Gras! Parades have already begun and as Mardi Gras Day nears, the streets of the French Quarter will fill with people from all over to watch parades in extravagant costumes while enjoying a continual flow of libations. If this is your first time in the Big Easy, familiarize yourself with a few of NOLA’s classic cocktails and perhaps read up on the Mardi Gras Indians because if you’re lucky enough to see one, you’ll need to know just how magical that moment is. Anything else you need to know can be found in our post teaching you how to do Mardi Gras like a local!
