Last Weekend in New Orleans: Diner en Blanc, Strawberry Lemonade and Crawfish

Last weekend in New Orleans, we attended Diner en Blanc, drank refreshing strawberry lemonade at Jim’s in the Bywater, and ate boiled crawfish.

Spring is in full swing in New Orleans and that means we’re out enjoying all the food, music and entertainment one can squeeze into a weekend. If you’ve never been to New Orleans during the spring time, you’re missing out. From crawfish boils to festivals, there is always something to do and boy,we did quite a bit this past weekend in NOLA. Below you can see what we did in our weekend recap in photos! What did you do? Share with us on Facebook and Twitter!

What we did: This past weekend we enjoyed the inaugural Diner en Blanc New Orleans. Diner en Blanc is an international event imported from France that is part secret-society, part-picnic and 100% awesome.

What we drank: In the South, everything is better with an ice-cold glass of lemonade and that can only be improved upon when you add fresh fruit. This weekend we tried the strawberry lemonade at Jim’s in the Bywater, another new addition to the booming Bywater dining scene. Check out the new diner during breakfast or lunch.

What we ate: Time is ticking on crawfish season and we have literally taken the opportunity to eat as many mud-bugs as possible this year. The season, which runs just past May into June, is one of our favorites and never seems to last long enough. Lucky for us, many bars and restaurants feature weekly crawfish boils to help you get your fill. One of those bars is Industry Bar on Decatur St. who offers up delicious boiled crawfish, and all the fixin’s, every Sunday.
