The 2014 New Orleans Jazz Fest Lineup is Announced

The 2014 New Orleans Jazz Fest music lineup has been released and features a variety of rock, indie, jazz, funk, blues, gospel, bounce and soul artists!

The day the initial New Orleans Jazz Fest music lineup is announced is highly anticipated and inevitably brings great joy to all who beholds it, not unlike the feeling experienced by a child on Christmas morning. Well the waiting is over, ladies and gentlemen, because that day has come. Jazz Fest has given us the primary reason to look forward to it – a formidable list of some of the best classic and current artists in the world who will be performing this year.

The variety of talent this year reminds us that Jazz Fest is truly a festival for everyone, catering to all types of tastes and spanning the spectrum of musical genres and styles. Topping the list are rock and roll legends Eric Clapton and Bruce Springsteen and pop diva Christina Aguilera because there is always at least one ridiculously epic icon performing each year. Then you have some of jam bands’ finest with Phish, Santana and The String Cheese Incident. Indie pop lovers will be happy to find Arcade Fire, Vampire Weekend, Foster the People, Head and the Heart and Alabama Shakes are on the lineup.  Then of course there is all of our homegrown talent ranging from soul, to brass, to bounce and everything in between including Aaron Neville, Allen Toussaint, Irma Thomas, The Radiators, Big Freedia, Dumpstaphunk, Anders Osborne, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Galactic, Tab Benoit, John Boutte and Alexis and the Samurai.

And we’ve only scratched the surface.

Brighten your day and see for yourself with the 2014 New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival music lineup, and because they like to keep us on our toes, look out for more to come between now and April.
