Last Weekend in New Orleans: Brass, Bar Tonique and Maurepas Foods

Last weekend in New Orleans, we drank Mai Tais at Bar Tonique, dined at Maurepas Foods and jammed out to the Stooges Brass Band at Tipitina’s!

Last week we kicked off our weekly New Orleans Weekend Recap series. Every Monday, we’ll take you on a visual journey through photos of our escapades in NOLA every weekend. What we saw: Stooges Brass Band was playing at the famous Tipitina’s this weekend. There is no shortage of great music in this city and the Stooges are one of our favorites.

What we drank: Bar Tonique is a hidden gem located in the back end of the French Quarter on Rampart Street. In addition to delicious hand-crafted cocktails, they have daily specials – including one of the best Mai Tais in the city every Sunday.

What we ate: We just can’t get enough of Maurepas Foods in the Bywater. Their menu changes weekly and features the best seasonal ingredients found locally. This weekend we enjoyed a plate of marinated cucumbers with fresh herbs and cous cous. Who knew cucumbers could be so exciting?!
