All throughout the month of August, COOLinary New Orleans offers locals and tourists alike the chance to dine out and indulge for less, with menu specials at more than 50 participating restaurants around town. With so many great deals and amazing lunch and dinner options, it can be hard to choose where to start. This week’s pick is Muriel’s, located on Jackson Square in the French Quarter.
For COOLinary 2014, Muriel’s is offering a prix fixe lunch menu for $17.50 and a $35.00 dinner menu special daily. The special lunch deal includes an appetizer, soup or house salad and your choice of delicious entrée, including shrimp and andouille stuffed mirliton, blackened Mississippi catfish with roasted new potatoes, wood-grilled pork loin with red beans and rice, chicken and andouille etouffée or beef tenderloin salad with shiitake mushrooms and blackberries.
COOLinary dinner specials at Muriel’s include a Louisiana seafood bayoubaisse, pecan-crusted baby drum with crabmeat relish, pan roasted half chicken with cornbread stuffing, New Orleans style barbeque shrimp or flank steak with blue cheese mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus.
While Muriel’s offers an affordable favorite each year at French Quarter Fest in the form of their Crawfish or Shrimp and Goat Cheese Crepes, their COOLinary menu offers diners a chance to savor a wider array of their offerings at an attractive price. Reservations are highly recommended; call (504) 568-1885 or visit Muriels.com to book online.
