There’s a reason New Orleans always makes the list of most popular cities in America and is such a hot destination for LGBTQ tourists, in particular. In addition to its welcoming attitude and vibrant queer scene, the city’s drag community is bursting at the sequined seams.
“New Orleans is a fantastic city for drag on both sides of being a spectator and a performer,” says Hexxorsis, a local queen and graduate of the famed New Orleans Drag Workshop.
“Drag here is celebrated and respected just as much as any other art form. And because so many drag queens and kings and performers in this city come from artistic backgrounds, there’s so much pride in the craft,” Hexxorsis says.
The city provides no shortage of weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly entertainment for drag enthusiasts.
