New Orleans Celebrates WorldPride in New York

Last month, our team took part in the celebration of WorldPride in New York City. The parade marked the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots, a series of riots led by members of the gay community in response to a police raid of the Stonewall Inn in the Greenwich neighborhood of New York City in June 1969. The Stonewall riots served as a catalyst in the gay rights movement. This year’s WorldPride parade was officially recognized as the largest ever LGBT event, with over 5 million attendees. We don’t typically do recaps here, but this one was so good, we had to share. We’re already looking forward to Pride 2020 in New Orleans. Stay tuned for dates and details.

The Pride March broke records as the parade lasted a whopping 12.5 hours and boasted over 250,000 marchers. Our 55’ riverboat float was the largest in the parade with Bryan Batt welcoming revelers. (Photo: Dustin Woehrmann)
