When walking through City Park, you may be a bit surprised to stumble upon a collection of 57 sculptures by artists from all around the world. This vast collection of sculptures are actually part of the New Orleans Museum of Art’s Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden that opened in 2003. A pair of cast stone and bronze pavilions with clerestory windows marks the entry to the exhibit and before you know it, you are among some of the greatest and most beautiful sculptures in the world. If you would like to know more about what you’re viewing, the museum offers a free, mobile-friendly audio tour of twenty of the sculptures in the Garden. So the next time you’re looking for something to do, take a trip to City Park and view some of the work of the great master sculptors of the 20th century.
