New Orleans All the Way Live: Food and Music Converge

In the latest episode of New Orleans All the Way Live, features bands the Lost Bayou Ramblers, Panorama Jazz Band and chefs Alon Shaya and Brian Landry on the confluence of New Orleans music and culture.

On this week’s New Orleans All the Way Live radio program, we celebrate the confluence of New Orleans music and food with the culture and history of Louisiana. To start things off, Cajun music meets up with fishing, as we enjoy a set of songs by Lost Bayou Ramblers with some oysters and pasta by executive Chef Brian Landry of the New Orleans restaurant Borgne.  Brian also talks with us about growing up fishing in the waters of Lake Borgne, the Spanish side of Creole cuisine and local seafood today.

To celebrate Passover, Executive Chef Alon Shaya of Domenica restaurant joins us to talk about the influence of Italy and Israel on his cooking as well as the Passover food he will be serving at his restaurant this month.  Alongside Cajun music, we turn our attention to the Panorama Jazz Band, an ensemble that plays the sounds of Eastern Europe, the Caribbean and Latin America, whose founder Ben Schenck was a guest on a recent episode of GoNOLA Radio.
