New Orleans is a city teeming with artistic talent, and there are many opportunities to soak up our creative culture. One of the best ways to enjoy the visual arts in New Orleans is by taking part in one of the city’s two Arts Walks each month. The Arts Walks are opportunities to see the latest art exhibits and installations by local and national artists in several galleries all in one night.
On the first Saturday of every month between 6 and 9 p.m., you can stroll down Julia Street, sipping wine, and taking in new art in several of the city’s best art galleries. You’ll see art across several different mediums and be able to mingle with fellow art lovers in the chic Warehouse District.
On the second Saturday of every month, you can continue your artistic explorations in the funky, Bohemian Bywater neighborhood by checking out the latest New Orleans art in the cutting edge, diverse, and experimental galleries along St. Claude Avenue. The galleries along this creative strip are open from 6 to 10 p.m. on the aptly titled “Second Saturdays” and show off a different side of the New Orleans art scene.
