Voodoo: Soul Rebels

The Soul Rebels aren’t your traditional brass band, instead they meld the brass band sounds and style with influences of R&B, funk and hip-hop. What results is an amazing sound that is sure to get you moving, no matter how hard you try not to. In a city full of brass bands, Soul Rebels are one of my all time personal favorites. Their weekly 11:00 pm Thursday night shows at Le Bon Temp Roule aren’t just a personal weakness, it is the perfect recipe for fun. More than a few out-of-town friends count a Soul Rebels show as the highlight of their trips to NOLA, which is a pretty amazing honor. You can catch the Soul Rebels amazing blend of brass, funk, R&B and hip-hop on Saturday, October 27 at 3:00 pm on the WWOZ/Bud Light stage.
