New Orleans is a magical place to spend New Year’s Eve. For a city that knows how to throw a party like none other, how could it not be? In typical fashion, we start the celebrations early. Beginning at 10:30 a.m. on New Year’s Eve, the Audubon Zoo hosts Zoo Year’s Eve, a family-friendly party with live music, games and a countdown to noon complete with party hats, noise makers, and an “Auld Lang Syne” sing along. After the kids have had their fill of their very own New Year’s Eve festivities, head down to the French Quarter for an epic soiree brought to you by the Crescent City Countdown, starting with live music in Jackson Square. After you’ve danced the year away, head over to the Riverwalk to see the fleur de lis drop over JAX Brewery, followed by the magnificent Symphony in the Sky fireworks show accompanied by a live band.
