From running to yoga, kayaking to biking, this month’s health and fitness events have something for everyone, and many focus on giving back to local nonprofits and the community. Enjoy the crisp, fall weather by running an invigorating 5K race through City Park. For those eyeing a prime starting position in the annual Crescent City Classic in April, the Crescent City Fall Classic is the only 5K race qualifier, so aim to set a personal best. The finish line includes complimentary beer, coffee, water, and red beans and rice, plus music and fun.

Get ready for the first-ever New Orleans yoga block party. Hosted by Domineaux Yoga, this hour-long class takes place outdoors on the 2100 block of Orleans Avenue alongside 100+ locals. Inspired by the New Orleans block parties of the 90s and 2000s, 100 Man Yoga celebrates New Orleans culture and includes tunes by Rapper Paco Troxclair and producer Ze11a. After yoga, browse an array of health and wellness vendors like Sénica Artisanal Body Care’s luxurious natural personal care products. You can catch more yoga classes with Domineaux Yoga each Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Algiers Regional Library starting on Tuesday, Nov. 26.

Drift along the moonlit waters of Bayou St. John during this romantic evening outing hosted by Bayou Paddlesports. Participants can rent a standup paddleboard, single or tandem kayak, or bring their own gear, and the ticket price includes drinks and bites afterward.

Located in the CBD, the NOPSI Hotel has partnered with Free To Be Power Yoga to provide donation-based yoga each Tuesday on their stunning rooftop patio. Footprints to Fitness is hosting Goat Yoga + Pilates on Sunday, Nov. 17 at 10 a.m. in Paradigm Gardens and Pups & Poses on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 6:30 p.m. in the Renaissance Arts Hotel. If you love cats, swing by Crescent City Cat Yoga in the Marigny on Sunday, Nov. 3 at 11 a.m. You’ll practice gentle yoga for 40 minutes in a historic cottage that has been turned into an adorable cat shelter. Earn your brunch with this family-friendly 6.5-mile bike ride that includes stops at sumptuous brunch spots. First, enjoy coffee and pastries from Laurel Street Bakery at the startling line, then journey to French Truck Coffee, Ruby Slipper, and more for local bites. Admission includes all food and drinks, plus complimentary blue bikes are available if you need a ride. At the finish line, unwind with yoga courtesy of NOLA Yoga Loft. The event benefits Odyssey House Louisiana and helps raise awareness of substance abuse recovery in the community and educates the public on the importance of healthy living.

Join local yoga instructor S. Brooke Bailey each Saturday morning for yoga on the shores of peaceful Bayou St. John. Long Vue House and Gardens boasts eight acres of sprawling, lush gardens, the perfect destination for a tranquil yoga class. Stop by on Sunday, Nov. 17 for an hour class with The Pilates & Yoga Loft in one of their magnificent gardens. If it’s raining, class will take place inside one of Long Vue’s garden cottages. This five-mile race is the nation’s oldest continuously running road race, and it takes place on Thanksgiving Day in City Park. There is also a half-mile race for the kids and an after-party that includes beer and bites. Register by November 20 for early-bird pricing.

Join Swan River Yoga at their Mid-City location for a class on Thanksgiving morning. Taught by a group of Swan River Yoga teachers, the class is donation-based and all proceeds fund their Swan River Yoga Arabi Community Center which provides yoga classes by donation.
