Only in New Orleans can you make something as eerie as a cemetery a major tourist attraction. Granted, ours are quite beautiful. How you ask? Well, because our city is built on a swamp, most have to be buried above ground which leaves us with gorgeous and elaborate stone crypts and mausoleums. Many have even come to resemble small villages which have been nicknamed “Cities of the Dead” and have brought in more foot traffic that many famous landmarks throughout the city.
