There’s a new Truck Stop on Magazine St., but this ain’t no gas station.
The shop just opened a few weeks ago, but there’s (mostly) nothing new about their stock. This place is a vintage western and t-shirt paradise, with a smattering of new items that carry a retro flair.
Vintage cigarette and gas signs are really nostalgic, bringing back all those summer family vacation memories. I’d kill to know where they found this stuff. There’s also a working pinball machine where customers are encouraged to test out their skills. Make sure you grab a cup of “bad coffee” to round out your experience.
Truck Stop carries an impressive selection of women’s and men’s clothing, including jeans, button downs, western shirts, belt buckles, jewelry, and lots of gift items. There’s also an entire rack of vintage sports tees, including deadstock Saints shirts. Why go to a game in the same tee everyone else will be wearing?
The wall of cowboy boots are amazing. There are plenty for guys and gals. Hands off the pink ones!
Even if you aren’t taking a road trip this summer make sure to include Truck Stop on your “staycation” itinerary.
Truck stop is located at 2209 Magazine St., right next to Stein’s Deli, five blocks from Jackson Ave. They’re open everyday noon ’till 6pm. Y’all keep up with them via their Facebook page and tell ’em I sent ya!
