This weekend is packed with all kinds of different events, and in typical New Orleans fashion, there’s a little something for everyone! Start your weekend off early with the Soul Rebels on Thursday night and close it out on Sunday with family fun for Father’s Day. As always in New Orleans, there’s something to suit the kids, adults, and whole family! So get out there and get your awesome on with my five picks for good times in New Orleans this weekend.

Thursday, June 16th:

Get funky with the Soul Rebels at Le Bon Temps Roule. This New Orleans brass band will having you dancing all night in the cozy back room of Le Bon Temps. Talk about quintessential New Orleans! I saw the Soul Rebels here on New Year’s Eve and I can tell you from experience, you don’t want to miss this show! $5 cover, show starts at 11PM.

Friday, June 17th:

Ringling Bro’s Barnum 200: Who doesn’t love the circus? Head to the New Orleans Arena for a fun night out that the kids and adults will both love! Doors open at 6PM, Tickets: $15 – $90.

Saturday, June 18th:

Ogden Playdate: Preservation Hall Family Day: Celebrate Preservation Hall’s 50th Anniversary at the Ogden Museum of Southern Art. This is a great event for parents to share with their children! Get their creative minds going with kids events such as the creation of musical instruments and Father’s Day gifts. The event runs from 11AM – 2PM, is open to all ages, and best of all, it’s FREE!

Bourbon and Burlesque at the Contemporary Arts Center: Put the kiddos to bed after the Ogden Playdate and join the CAC and Dickie Brennan’s Bourbon House for an evening of delicious food, creative cocktails and some of the top burlesque troops in New Orleans! Event runs from 8PM – 11PM, Tickets: $25 – $80.

Sunday, June 19th:

Happy Father’s Day! Spend the day celebrating Dad with the family! That means Dad’s off duty, and it’s your turn to cater to him!
