Looking for something to put you in the Christmas spirit before the weekend starts?  Well, we are never lacking good music or good entertainment here in New Orleans. Come by legendary local music hot spot Tipitina’s this Thursday, December 16, for the “Noise for Toys” Holiday Benefit. With all donated toys and food going to the Second Harvest Food Bank, “Noise for Toys” will combine the wonderful talents of many local artists and musicians with the holiday spirit to benefit needy people across New Orleans.

All holiday revelers are asked to please bring a non-perishable food item and/or an unwrapped toy item for the drive. (And since Tipitina’s is across the street from a big grocery store, that shouldn’t be a problem!) A silent auction, raffle, and holiday bazaar will also be part of the event to raise funds for the food bank.

The event will feature an array of local musicians and bands of different genres of music performing in 15-20 minute slots including artists such as Good Enough for Good Times, Gravity A, Andrew Duhon and Joe Krown.

A very special holiday tribute to the late great blues singer Marva Wright, who passed away this year in March, will be performed by Margie PerezTopsy ChapmanDeanna Bernard, Leslie Smith and Bruce Sunpie Barnes.

Tickets are $11 for general admission and are available at Ticketweb.
