Which Mardi Gras Parade Are You Based On Your Zodiac Sign?

Mardi Gras Day (Photo: Cheryl Gerber)

In New Orleans, Mardi Gras is a city-wide celebration. It’s revelry on the grandest scale, with every kind of fun you can imagine. There are so many parades to see, parties to join, throws to catch, and costumes to wear. But with all sorts of excitement comes all sorts of choices. Which events are you destined to enjoy?

We’ve consulted the stars and found the perfect Mardi Gras parade for every sign in the zodiac – check out your horoscope below to see your most compatible parade!

Krewe of Bacchus (Photo: Paul Broussard)

Aries (The Ram): Bacchus

If Mardi Gras was a competition, Bacchus would reign supreme – nothing can match this krewe’s dedication to the Carnival spirit. And that’s exactly the way Aries likes it. Always the fearless competitor, the Ram wants to grab Mardi Gras by the horns. Nothing short of the most trailblazing super-krewe will do.

Taurus (The Bull): Nyx

Always partial to earthly pleasures, Taurus strives for the finer things in life – and nothing says Mardi Gras luxury quite like the Krewe of Nyx’s dazzling purse throws. It’s the perfect reward for the Bull zodiac, who has the stubborn streak it takes to snag one of these coveted prizes.

Gemini (The Twins): Rex & Zulu

Impulsive, a tad indecisive, but always the life of the party – Gemini can’t pick just one parade and shouldn’t have to! Ruled by the planet Mercury, Gemini wants the full Mardi Gras experience and has the energy to make it happen. Catching a coconut at Zulu and then high-tailing it to the Rex parade isn’t a challenge – it’s heaven on earth for the Twins of the zodiac.

Cancer (The Crab): The Society of St. Anne

A costume is just what Cancer needs to shed its sensitive shell, and there’s no better bunch of masquerading oddballs than the Society of St. Anne. This Fat Tuesday crowd follows its gut on a haphazard, loose-on-the-details parade route – a plan well suited for the Crab’s creative intuition.

Leo (The Lion): Endymion

The crowd-pleaser and regal ruler of the horoscope clan, Leo will feel right at home on the Endymion parade route. It’s one of the grand spectacles of Mardi Gras weekend. The endless throws, celebrity riders, and larger-than-life floats are sure to appeal to the Lion’s bold, big-hearted nature.

Virgo (The Virgin): Red Beans

For Virgo, Mardi Gras is all about the costumes – everything else is lagniappe. That’s why the Red Beans parade is an ideal match, bringing their love of beauty and impeccable detail together. This quirky Lundi Gras gathering has everything Virgo needs to celebrate in true Carnival fashion.

Libra (The Scales): Iris

For Libra, the revelry of Mardi Gras calls for a special style and grace. It needs to look as good as it feels, and the Krewe of Iris couldn’t agree more. Their Uptown parade strikes the balance of excess and finesse that the Scales of the zodiac crave.

Scorpio (The Scorpion): Chewbacchus

The Force is strong with Scorpio, the most intense and engaged of the horoscope signs. They are destined to reach for the stars and join the intergalactic party at Chewbacchus. The Scorpion’s laser-focused energy is the fuel this krewe rolls on!

Sagittarius (The Archer): Krewe du Vieux

A fearless adventurer and a stranger to shame, Sagittarius always speaks their mind – and Krewe du Vieux is a kindred spirit. This parade packs every spoof and scandalous joke into their French Quarter route, all in the name of truth. The Archer sign will love every minute of it, no matter how absurd, shocking, or downright ridiculous it may be.

Capricorn (The Goat): Proteus

For a lover of structure like Capricorn, tapping into tradition is the key to Mardi Gras fun. Attending a time-honored parade like the Krewe of Proteus – which has cut loose during Carnival since 1882 – is the do-whatcha-wanna blueprint that the Goat is looking for.

Krewe of Muses (Photo: Paul Broussard)

Aquarius (The Water Bearer): Muses

Forward-thinking, generous, and a bit eccentric, Aquarius sees possibility everywhere. Imagination is their trusted guide, which will undeniably lead to the Muses parade. This Krewe is famous for satirical floats, a philanthropic spirit, and brilliantly glitter-dipped shoes – the perfect trio for the Water Bearing sign.

Pisces (The Fish): Orpheus

Ruled by the planet Neptune, Pisces is fated to follow the music, and their ears will perk up at the Orpheus parade. This krewe rolls in harmony with the Fish sign’s creative, romantic spirit – their motto of “Rhythm, Rhyme, Revelry” makes for a fully-immersed Mardi Gras atmosphere that Pisces is searching for.
