All us children of the 80s got to know Bruce Hornsby through his ubiquitous songs “The Way It Is” and “Mandolin Rain,” but there’s so much more to this versatile singer, songwriter, pianist, and accordion player.
During his 28-year career, he has won Best New Artist Grammy with Bruce Hornsby and the Range, Best Bluegrass Recording Grammy, and the Best Pop Instrumental Grammy. Hornsby has also collaborated with the likes of Grateful Dead, Bela Fleck, Ricky Skaggs, and Dave Matthews. His creative, highly improvisational live performances often draw from a smorgasbord of musical genres, including jazz, folk, classical, bluegrass, blues, rock, and Motown.
His current group, Bruce Hornsby & the Noise Makers, will play Jazz Fest on Friday, May 4 at 2:05pm.
