This up and coming band from Vermont features plenty of classic rock sounding tunes full of southern fried soul. But though she is often compared to rock icons like Stevie Nicks and Janis Joplin, Grace Potter is at home in many genres. Last year, she recorded a duet, “You and Tequila,” with Kenny Chesney and also sat in with Preservation Hall’s band, leading vocals on St James Infirmary Blues. Their newest album is a mix of modern soul with funky organ. The Nocturnals are known for their fiery live show, and promise to deliver at Jazz Fest on Friday May 4.
