As someone who has lived multiple places in South Louisiana, I’ve experienced everything from the authentic Cajun music of Lafayette to the amazing jazz that we have here in New Orleans. I can honestly say I find few things more satisfying than watching a local group rise to national and international fame. Such is the case with this Grammy-nominated group of 5 boys from the Cajun heartland. There is a very traditional Cajun-style to the music of the Lost Bayou Ramblers, including the fact that their lyrics are sung mostly in Cajun French. Performing this year alongside members of both the Givers, who have been getting tons of national press over the last year or so, and Preservation Hall, an institution of this city, their performance is guaranteed to be a celebration of South Louisiana’s finest. Watch them all take the stage on Sunday, October 28.
