Voodoo Post

While he may be best known as the DJ behind some of the chart-toppers we’ve seen over the last few years – titles like “We Found Love” with Rihanna, “Let’s Go” with Ne-Yo, and “Sweet Nothing” with Florence Welch – Calvin Harris has been an active DJ, singer, songwriter, and record producer for the last 6 years.  He has a lot to dance about – he was the highest paid DJ last year!  His latest release, the star-studded 18 Months, was released last year.  Get ready to groove as he takes the stage on November 1 at 7:30 PM.

On the days I’m working in the office, I consider upbeat music a must-have.  My Pandora turned me on to Dirty South recently, and I’m pretty excited about it.  A one-man, Serbian-Australian act based out of Melbourne, Dirty South has one record under his belt, the 2013 release Speed of Life.  He has been nominated for 2 Grammys in his career and has worked alongside another of my favorites, Kaskade, as well as Snoop Dogg, U2, and others.  I think we’ll see a lot more of this guy in years to come; watch him perform on November 2 at 5:45 PM.

I can thank one of my yoga teachers for introducing me to The Revivalists; she was visiting from the Philly area and is a huge fan, so she played “Soulfight” during our flow and it really resonated with me.  This 7-member jam band was formed in New Orleans, and they are known for pretty much non-stop touring.  I think this is a great act to catch because a lot of their music feels like a nod to an older sort of rock and roll.  Their latest album is called City of Sound and they will be playing November 3 at 6:00 PM.
